Sawyier is known to have included this white house in at least three watercolors, with different rock formations in the foreground. However, in this particular painting can be seen in the center through the trees the roof top of another building.
The shape of the roof top brings to mind the unique roof of the chapel in the Frankfort City Cemetery. The rock formation also brings to mind several scens in the TWO VILLAGE series that focused on the path from downtown Frankfort to the City Cemetery.
This painting was purchased in the 1970's from the art collection of the Women's Club of Frankfort.
